This site was born after the success of Alex Beauchamp's Girl at Play Blog which began in 2001 to detail her journey of leaving a successful corporate position to become a full-time artist. She knew she wasn't the first - or the last - to do this and so she created this site to showcase other creative female entrepreneurs.

Everyone featured here are all successfully self-employed with their business based on their artistic talents. By sharing their stories Alex, and all the women featured, hope to remove the fears of following one's dream so that we all will become Girl's at Play.

And what's a Girl at Play? Someone whose work doesn't seem like work. The Carl Jung quote expresses it best: "What did you do as a child that made the hours pass like minutes? Herein lies the key to your earthly pursuits."

Another Girl at Play not only shares the empowering stories of smart, artistic and unstoppable women but also wonderful links, useful resources and encouraging newsletters to help you either begin - or continue on - your creative path. And it is - and has always been - 100% free because we believe in the power of community and support. Not one artist was paid to be featured and not one feature of the site requires payment.
